I was raised in a good Catholic family. I went to church and Catholic school, but I never had much interest in God. When I was in high school, some personal setbacks turned me to seek the Lord. I began to read the Bible and talk to God. When I went to college, I began to consider meeting with some believers.
One evening as a freshman, I was approached by a young man who stopped me in my tracks with this simple question “Do you know the mystery of the universe?” He invited me to a gospel meeting with the local church in Kent, Ohio. In that meeting I saw people who were genuinely enjoying God! The singing was so heart-warming, and the sharing was so life imparting! I heard that I am a vessel made to contain God. I was so hungry for God! I never knew until that night that I had a human spirit that could contact God. I prayed a simple prayer: “Lord Jesus, come into me.” That night, I touched Him, He touched me, and my Christian life really began. I started to know the mystery of the universe.
